Frequently asked questions

The things we are asked most often in direct messages. If your question is not here, write to us and we will answer it.

What if I have never held a tool before?
Most of our students pick up a jeweller's tool here for the first time. The teacher shows every stage and stays with you throughout. No jewellery-making experience is needed for any of the workshops.
How much does it cost?
“Working with Metal” is 300 GEL per person, “Wax and Metal” 400 GEL, “Wax, Metal and Stone” 450 GEL, and “Cabochon Stone” 450 GEL. Wedding rings are priced separately: see the Wedding Rings page.
How long does a workshop take?
The one-day formats run 4–5 hours (“Working with Metal”) or 5–6 hours (“Cabochon Stone”). The two-day formats run 3–4 hours a day (“Wax and Metal”) or 4 hours a day (“Wax, Metal and Stone”).
What do I take home?
A finished silver piece that you made yourself from start to finish. Each price includes 7 grams of silver. On the cabochon workshop the stone is included as well.
Where are you, and when are you open?
112 Ivane Javakhishvili St, Chugureti, Tbilisi. The studio entrance is off the courtyard. We work by arrangement rather than to a timetable: write to us and we will find a day and time that suits.
How many people are in a class?
Workshops run in small groups of two to four people.
Can we make wedding rings?
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people come. Both partners make the rings, in a single session or across two days. Prices and formats are on the Wedding Rings page.
Why is there a gap between the two sessions?
The two-day formats have at least 2 working days between sessions: the wax model has to be cast in silver, and that does not happen in the studio. On the second day you work the finished casting.
What if I want something larger, or in gold?
A larger silver piece carries a surcharge. Working in gold is also possible: it is arranged separately and costs more. For wedding rings, gold is available only in the two-day “Wax and Metal” format.
Can I give a workshop as a present?
Yes. Write and tell us which workshop it is for, or how much you would like to put on it, and we will arrange it. If the workshop turns out to be the wrong one, it can be swapped for another — you pay the difference on the day. The certificate does not expire.
Is there an age limit?
Children come with an adult and it works beautifully. There is no fixed rule: tell us the age of the participant and we will suggest a format.
What should I bring?
Nothing. Tools, silver and an apron are ours. If you have a sketch or a reference, send it ahead so we can prepare.
